The tech giant controls nearly 800 acres in northwest Licking County
Although Intel is attracting all the attention thanks to its $20 billion investment in northwest Licking County, there is another tech Goliath that’s building a large presence in the same area.
That would be Amazon.
It has locked up multiple sites just west and south of the Intel development currently under construction in Jersey Township.
The most prominent location is a fulfillment center on 100 acres along Beech Road south of State Route 161 that opened in mid 2022.
A few key numbers for that development: one-million-square-foot facility, $250 million investment, projected 1,000 jobs. The complex is a neighbor to data centers for Meta to the east and Google to the south as part of the New Albany International Business Park.
