Johnstown sees dramatic spike

There’s no doubt Central Ohio remains a strong real estate market. Sure, rising interest rates have curtailed the overall number of sales, but prices continued to soar in 2022: according to various reports, the median sales price jumped 11.5 percent (to $290,000) from the previous year.

However, the market cooled in the first quarter of 2023. Sales prices rose only 2.5 percent. Interestingly, prospective sellers in certain suburbs and cities near the Intel development remain hopeful: median listing prices for homes on the market rose year-over-year in March. Would-be sellers in Johnstown are especially confident that buyers will pay a premium.
